According to the information released, the incident began around 3:08 a.m. when troopers from the Philadelphia station attempted to pull over the Infiniti G 37 on Interstate 95 southbound in Tinicum for unspecified vehicle code violations. However, the driver of the vehicle refused to yield, prompting the troopers to initiate a pursuit.

Spike Strips Deployed, Suspect Vehicle Disabled

Local police officers responded to the scene and deployed spike strips on the highway near the intersection of Stewart Avenue and Route 291. The suspect vehicle eventually struck the spikes, causing it to become disabled. At this point, the driver and two passengers abandoned the car and fled on foot into a densely wooded area.

Suspects Apprehended with Assistance of Multiple Agencies

The driver of the Infiniti, identified as Jarrett Justice, 22, of East Windsor, New Jersey, was quickly taken into custody by the pursuing troopers. The two passengers, however, managed to evade the initial capture and ran into the nearby woods. Additional law enforcement units, including troopers from the Media-based station, were called in to assist in the search and apprehension of the remaining suspects.

Charges Filed Against Suspects

Court records indicate that Samad Sababu, 21, of Trenton, New Jersey, was charged with resisting and evading arrest. He was held on 10% of a ,000 bail, which he posted on Monday. Jarrett Justice, the driver, was charged with fleeing and eluding, evading arrest or detention on foot, and related traffic offenses. He was held on 10% of a ,000 bail and was taken to the George W. Hill Correctional Facility, with a preliminary hearing scheduled for July 29.

The incident involved the coordinated efforts of multiple law enforcement agencies, including the Pennsylvania State Police and various local police departments.
