Empowering the Next Generation of Musical Prodigies

A Remarkable Debut at Carnegie Hall

Aria Mehta's journey to the iconic Carnegie Hall stage was no easy feat. As a member of the Senior Division Premier Ensemble of the San Francisco chapter of the National Children's Chorus (NCC) for the 2023-2024 season, Mehta dedicated countless hours to ensemble training, musicianship classes, and frequent commutes to San Francisco for rehearsals. The final concert of the year at Carnegie Hall marked the culmination of a year of intense musical growth and voice development for the young soprano.Mehta's performance at Carnegie Hall was a testament to her dedication and talent. Handpicked from hundreds of students across the country, she was one of only eight soloists featured in the prestigious concert, a remarkable achievement for a 14-year-old. The experience not only showcased Mehta's exceptional vocal abilities but also served as a testament to the transformative power of music education and the unwavering support of her community.

Rapid Advancement and Prestigious Opportunities

Following her successful Carnegie Hall debut, Mehta's musical journey continued to soar. After just one year with NCC's Senior Division, she was promoted to the organization's most technically-skilled vocal group, the Scholars. This elite ensemble, with an emphasis on college-prep training, is reserved for singers who have honed their skills over many years at the Senior Division level or its equivalent.Mehta's rapid advancement within the NCC program is a testament to her exceptional talent and dedication. Her promotion to the Scholars group not only recognizes her technical prowess but also opens the door to even greater opportunities for growth and development. In addition to her promotion, Mehta received a special invitation to join the private studio of NCC's Associate Artistic Director and Chief Programming Officer, Dr. Pamela Blackstone. "I was so impressed with Aria's work this past season," said Dr. Blackstone. "As we began working together in our one-on-one private coaching sessions, I was able to begin accessing the strongest parts of her voice through advanced vocal techniques. It was truly sensational."
